Is Brazilian Wax Very Painful?

Some feel slight pain, some feel none. But the pain will never be completely unbearable and the discomfort is it’s worth it and that it gets better with each session. Things become more simple with a Brazilian wax because it simply means that all hair is removed from the inner lips of the vagina as well as the back end—aka in-between your butt cheeks. Some women will prefer to leave some hair in the form of a triangle, landing strip or fun shape.

How long will the results last? After a client’s first waxing, the results can last 3 to 6 weeks depending on the individual’s hair re-growth rate. In most cases, hair growth is minimal during the first week or two and noticeably increases in the third and fourth week.

A Brazilian wax exfoliates your skin’s most sensitive and intimate area and removes dead, dry skin cells. Brazilian waxing also removes damaged skin cells allowing healthy new skin tissue to grow and also eliminates dirt and debris found in clogged pores in the lower body, reducing acne breakouts in the pubic area.

Who shouldn’t get a Brazilian wax. Brazilian waxing is not recommended for people with skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, which can be aggravated by waxing. And for women with diabetes, severe or even life-threatening problems can arise because their immune systems are already compromised.

For at least 24 hours, you’ll want to avoid saunas, tanning beds, and even the gym. Wait for Sex: Give yourself about 2 days, or 24-48 hours, to recover from the wax before engaging in any sexual activity. Keep it Loose: Avoid tight and constricting clothing for a few days after your wax.

This may sound counterintuitive but in order to get a good ol’ shiny vaginy, you need to grow it out until your hairs are about a grain of rice in length (¼ of an inch). It can be longer, too. The length is needed so the wax can grip the hairs. Whatever you do, do NOT shave before your appointment.

NO hot shower or bath for at least 12 hours.

Directly after waxing your hair follicle is left open. This makes it susceptible hot water entering the open hair follicle during a shower or bath. This will irritate the area and create discomfort. Once your follicles close you can return to your normal bathing routine.

One of the best products we have found to use after waxing and that we recommend is simply organic virgin coconut oil. Coconut oil (unrefined) is the only oil that does not trap heat in the skin and will cool and soothe the skin.

What all of this means is that an average Brazilian wax will only remove about 30% of hair by the root while it is in the Anagen phase. The majority of your hair is in the Telogen phase, so you are only removing the old, dead hair. This means that you can expect to see noticeable hair regrowth within 2 to 3 weeks.
